What Makes Us Human?

This question can be answered from many different perspectives and with the help of several different scientific disciplines. The course therefore includes different theories which contribute with their views on the issue.

This leads to a multidisciplinary process which aims to deepen and problematize our view of ourselves.

During the course, different issues are discussed, such as where and how humans have arisen and whether there are specific human characteristics, which make us human. The course also deals with how people are shaped by different cultures and also includes an existential perspective on how different groups understand and perceive their own role in society. This specialization course is aimed at students from both the Natural Science programme and the Social Science programme. The course ends by looking at the development of mankind. How will a human be defined in the future?"
