Since 1999 Kungsholmen’s gymnasium has a partnership with three schools in Zambia: Hillcrest Technical High School in Livingstone, Chinika High School in Lusaka and Monze Boarding High School in Monze. The school has an active contact with the schools in Zambia and our students work to raise funds to contribute to the schooling of students in Zambia. Several groups have travelled to Zambia over the last few years where students have worked on projects connected to their gymnasium project.

In spring 2014 a group of 20 students and 4 teachers visited Zambia and worked with research connected to the Specialisation course, Global Health and Development which is studied in 3rd year and connected to the Gymnasium Thesis.

We also have new contacts with schools in Guatemala. A group of students and teachers travelled to Guatemala in the spring of 2014 to see the work being done thanks to some fund raising which our students undertook in the autumn of 2013, when one of the schools in Guatemala was under threat of closure due to lack of funding.
