This programme is now being offered to help prepare students for University level studies where most of the literature being used is in English. Besides core subjects such as English, Swedish and Mathematics, the programme includes learning about how businesses operate both in Sweden and abroad.

Kungsholmen has a tradition of working so that our students are prepared for taking responsibility in our Global society when they graduate. This means that we prepare our students by taking into account the challenges that face our modern world:

Sustainability – which resources are sustainable for business?

Human Rights – how do we ensure that those who work are earning a living wage?

Global Health and Development – will our Business ideas help in this area?

In 1st year studies will include many aspects of business including everything from working out a business idea and how to raise the capital to realise the business idea. Learning about how to keep track of finances and how to reach the customer group that you want to reach are an integral part of studying on this programme.

In 2nd year students will continue to learn more about the world of Finance combined with a course in Law. This will include Family law, Contract law and Consumer law – the basics of law that you need to understand the rights and responsibilities attached to starting and running a business. Learning about cultural codes and customs and norms in different parts of the world and how important they are for businesses are other aspects that will be studied. See the Study Plan for more details of the courses included.

In 3rd year students will study International Business specialization in conjunction with Entrepreneurship and Business and will have the opportunity to start their own company within the Youth Enterprise organization Ung Företagsamhet (UF). Other aspects that will be studied in this connection will be International money markets and Global markets of commodities and resources. We also plan to organize a study trip to investigate how businesses operate in other markets.

Our students who have studied Entrepreneurship as an Individual choice course in recent years have been very successful and have won several prizes in the Stockholm region and even in the National competitions within UF.

International contacts are an important aspect of studies at Kungsholmen and at present we have connections with European countries through our language exchanges in French, German and Spanish.

Students graduating from this programme will be qualified to continue to university studies in both Sweden and abroad. Support with applications to universities abroad is offered by the school.
